      The electric conductivity under stress for example is a piezoelectric property. For example imagine a plane and this plane is made of piezoelectric materials. When there is some crack, maintenance requirements occur, stress happen in that area and we can monitor what is wrong with this material. Because with stress concentrated areas we can generate electrical voltage and we can evaluate it in our softwares which is extremely useful to decrease maintenance amount. I hope it makes sense.
